To test that your bot is working, you can follow these steps:
- Preview
- Interact
- Make changes
- Share
1. Preview
Once you’ve finished building, hit the Preview button at the bottom left-hand corner of the page. This will open a new tab in your browser.
2. Interact
As you’re interacting with your bot, you can correct responses or start over from the beginning. This looks slightly different depending on whether you’re launching your bot as a chat or a form.
In the chat interface
To correct a previous response in a bot, click on the "↶" button in the bottom left corner of the last response entered.
On desktop, to start over, click the "⟲ Start again" button in the sidebar on the left-hand side.
On mobile, use the hamburger menu at the top and click the "⟲ Start again" button in the drop-down.
In the form interface
To correct a previous response in a form, simply scroll back to the response you wish to correct. You can edit any response in a form at any time.
On desktop, to start over again, click the "⟲ Start again" button in the sidebar on the left-hand side.
On mobile, use the hamburger menu at the top and click the "⟲ Start again" button in the drop-down.
3. Make changes
You can make changes to your bot in real-time. Just go back into the dashboard, make the changes you want, and then test them out by pressing Preview again.
(Hint: Make sure to click the “⟲ Start again” button in the left-hand sidebar to ensure that any changes you have made appear.)
Note: If your bot is live, additional changes you make will not flow through to your live bot automatically.
You can first test your bot in Preview to make sure any updates you make are working as expected.
Once you’re happy with the changes, all you need to do is click ‘Update’ in the launch tab for the changes to flow through to your live bot.
4. Share your bot
Before you launch your bot, you can share it in your network for testing. To do this, preview your bot, copy the URL in the tab that launches and send it to the people you want to test.
