The format painter lets you copy all of the formatting from one text block and apply it to another block – think of it as copying and pasting for formatting. If you’ve ever used the format painter in Microsoft Word, it’s exactly the same!
On Josef, the format painter can be useful when you’re adding to or editing the contents of your document.
You can use the format painter to update the formatting of a block in 3 simple steps:
- Focus on a text block containing the formatting you want to copy.
- Click on the format painter button in the top-left corner of the Word editor. Your cursor should appear as a paint brush now!
- Click on your new block to apply the formatting you copied.
Your new block will now have the formatting of the block you copied. That’s it!
