Josef's Slack integration enables you to send bot responses including generated documents to Slack channels and via direct messages.
This article will show what Slack workflows are available and how you can enable the workflow for your bot(s).
Available workflows
Workflow 1 - Send your document to Slack channel
Your Josef bot can automatically send a generated document to your team Slack channel each time an interaction is completed with a preconfigured messages as per below:
Hello, the bot [name of your bot] has been completed by:
User: [name of user]
Email: [email of user]
Please find a link to the generated document: [link to document].
To make sure the name and email of the user passes through to Slack, please ensure your bot asks for a name and an email. Please name the messages in your bot accordingly:
- josef_name
- josef_email
If you don’t want to include the name or email, the integration will leave that out of the message.
Workflow 2 - Send your document to a Slack user
Your Josef bot can automatically send a generated document to a member in your Slack organisation each time an interaction is completed. The functionality is the same as workflow 1, but in this case it is a direct message to a team member.
How to enable your Slack integration

- Name of your bot(s)
- The account email address your bot(s) sit in
- The Slack channel or Slack member you want your bot to post the message to
